A man claiming to be Tupac was arrested last month in LA
TMZ has reported that when the man was arrested and was asked for his full name, to which he replied with “Tupac Amaru Shakur” – He also gave June 16, 1971 as his date of birth.
Clarence Campbell is the real name of the man, and this isn’t the first time that he has given Tupac’s name when being arrested. Clarence Campbell is actually known by LA police for using Tupac’s name. He was arrested for felony assault with a deadly weapon.
In other Tupac news, Snoop Dogg has called him “the greatest rapper of all time” as Tupac was instated into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Also, an official Tupac Café is about to open in New York City. Tupac’s Powamekka Café is based on Tupac’s plans for a restaurant. The concept was found in the handwritten pages of his notebook. The café will include a “carefully curated collection from his archives including personal photos from his childhood, his poetry and music memorabilia from his favourite artists and through the food he loved including meatloaf, gumbo and, one of his favourite dishes – his cousin Jamala’s fried chicken wings”.
Tom Whalley, the trustee of The Estate of Tupac Shakur has said, “Tupac’s creative vision was limitless. He was constantly working on ideas and plans that reached far beyond music and film. One of the things he was extremely passionate about was opening a restaurant – he even sketched out plans and a concept for a menu. We are proud to bring Tupac’s Powamekka Café to life.”
