The Chameleons drummer John Lever has died

John Lever, the drummer for The Chameleons, has sadly passed away.

The Chameleons was a punk band from Manchester. John Lever played on drums for them from 1981 until 1987, when the band split. He re-joined the band again in 2000 when they reformed but they broke up again three years later.

The Chameleons’ member, Mark Burgess, announced the news on Facebook, writing that Lever “died this morning following a short period of illness. We want to offer our sincere and deepest sympathy to John’s mother, his sister and his two children at this terrible time.”

I'm deeply sad to report that this afternoon I got the news that John Lever died this morning following a short period…
